The Cambridge Food Bank is once again calling on the local community to take part in our annual Grow a Row Give a Row Campaign. By growing fresh produce in our own backyards and donating a row of it to the Food Bank, we can work together to provide healthy, nutritious food to those who are food insecure in our community.

We have been running this campaign for several years, and it has proven to be another successful way to combat food insecurity in our area. Last year, with the help of the community, we received over 16,000 of pounds of garden produce to distribute to those in need. We are grateful for the continued support of our community and hope to increase that amount this year.

Growing a row is easy and can be done by anyone, regardless of gardening experience. We encourage everyone to get involved, whether you have a small balcony or a large garden. All types of produce are welcome, including vegetables, fruits, and herbs.

Once you’ve harvested your garden, you’re welcome to contact us at 519-622-6550 or info@cambridgefoodbank.org to have your garden or fruit trees gleaned. All produce gathered through gleaning goes to support the Food Bank!

  1. Obtain seeds either through our seed share program or by purchasing your own.
  2. Email sign up here to make your growing commitment.  Suggested but not required
  3. Harvest your produce just before you’re ready to donate it. Please wipe off any excessive dirt.
  4. Drop off your fresh produce at the Cambridge Food Bank at 54 Ainslie Street South.

Together, let’s make a difference in our community by growing and sharing fresh produce. Your participation in the Grow a Row Give a Row Campaign will help ensure that everyone has access to healthy, nutritious food.
