Why a New Facility Matters
The current Cambridge Food Bank location has long exceeded its capacity.
As demand has increased, staff and volunteers have adapted in every possible way, transforming offices, hallways, and storage areas into makeshift working spaces.
The new facility will create:
- More capacity, efficiency and accessibility for emergency food
- Expanded programs in larger community classroom space
- Larger commercial kitchen to increase food rescue programs and welcome more children/families to learn life skills
- Greenhouse and garden beds generating nutritious food and educating our community on the importance of local food
This new space represents more than a building. It represents stability, dignity, and the ability to serve more people with greater care.
