We Need Your Help to Make an Impact
When you give to the Cambridge Food Bank, you are creating brighter futures for our neighbours in need. The Cambridge Food Bank offers food and supports to people experiencing food insecurity in Cambridge and North Dumfries.
Our goal is to build health and belonging through food. Specifically, by offering food and wellness programs that nourish bellies, minds, and souls – giving folks the opportunity to lift themselves out of the cycle of poverty that affects too many families in our community.
Why Become a Food Bank Sponsor?
Poverty and food insecurity significantly impact health. Families living on a low income are often not able to afford fresh food, like fruit and vegetables, which play a key role in maintaining good health. Many low-income families have to rely on food that is inexpensive and filling, rather than food that is high in nutrients. With this in mind, it is our goal to increase access to fresh and nutritious food.
Social isolation impacts a person’s physical and mental well-being which can increase the aging process and reduce the quality of life. We offer a broad range of nutrition and wellness programming for the whole family. Our kitchen and wellness hub use food to bring people together, fostering independence through interdependence.
