Event FAQ
Who can host a fundraising event?
Anyone can host a fundraiser for the Cambridge Food Bank.
Fundraising organizer must:
- Obtain written permission of The Cambridge Food Bank prior to using its name, logo, image
- Provide any additional insurance or license as needed.
- Cover all expenses related to the fundraiser
- The primary responsibility for organizing and conducting the fundraiser lies with the volunteers, and/or staff of the company, organization or group that has been approved to execute the fundraising event
The Cambridge Food Bank will approve a third party fundraiser if it reflects the mission of The Cambridge Food Bank and is in keeping with our values. Please contact Sarah Tooze at 519-622-6550 ext. 101 or stooze@cambridgefoodbank.org, prior to organizing your event to receive written or verbal permission.
Will The Cambridge Food Bank provide promotional material for my event?
Yes. When you contact us to register your event please let us know what we can provide to make your event as successful as possible.

A copy of our logo to include on your custom promo materials
Do we qualify for a tax receipt?
As per CRA regulations, The Cambridge Food Bank can only issue an official donation receipt to the individual/organization that made the gift. Therefore, event organizers who raise funds at an event cannot receive a tax receipt for monies given by others. If The Cambridge Food Bank receives a list of donors and their addresses and the amount given by each individual/organization along with a lump sum representing the total amount of funds raised, tax receipts may be issued to these individuals
Will the food bank send a representative to my event?
It is not possible to send a representative to all events hosted by our community but we are happy to work with you to help your fundraiser be successful
